Stop rushing your heart

If you've been crying in the shower before anyone wakes up,

then white-knuckling your way through the rest of the day like nothing happened, please hear this with so much tenderness:

You are not behind, you are not doing this wrong, and you do not need to rush.

There is no timeline for healing from betrayal.

Not six months, not a year, not whatever well-meaning friends or Google searches have told you is "normal."

Your nervous system experienced a REAL rupture, and your body doesn't heal on a schedule.

It heals when it finally feels safe enough to.

If that resonates, I want you to know you're not alone in this, and you don't have to carry it by yourself.

So when you keep replaying that moment, or checking his phone, or spiraling when a favorite song comes on in the car, that's not weakness.

That's your brain trying to protect you from a threat it hasn't fully processed, nor healed yet.

It's doing exactly what survival wiring is designed to do.

And the fact that you're still showing up for your kids, your work, your life, even on the days it takes everything you have…

That takes more courage than most people will ever understand.

If you've been pressuring yourself to "move on" or "get over it," I want you to let that go today.

You don't need to have it all figured out to start healing.

You just need one safe step forward, and that can be as small as reading this blog and letting it land.

You are still here, still whole underneath the hurt, and that matters more than you know right now.

Warmly,

Shawn 💛

P.S. If you've been carrying this alone and you're tired of pretending everything's fine, schedule a complimentary Breakthrough session with me to talk about how you're REALLY doing.

No pressure to be polished, just honest. That conversation might be the first step you've been waiting for.
