Trusting Yourself Again After Your Husband’s Affair

You knew before you knew.

And how badly you hoped you were wrong...

So you kept moving. You told yourself it was just anxiety, just the kind of fear that comes with loving someone this much. You gave him the benefit of the doubt, because that’s what a loving person does.

And then you found out.

Every single thing you had talked yourself out of came rushing back. The small feeling in your stomach. The moment something didn’t add up. The question you almost asked. Because some part of you knew the whole time.

If you’re sitting with that right now, I want you to know that it makes sense, and you’re not alone. So many women I walk beside describe this exact moment after discovering an affair.

The hardest part of an affair isn’t always what he did

Here’s what I’ve come to understand about trusting yourself after an affair: the hardest part often isn’t even what he did.

It’s that you stopped trusting the one person who was trying to protect you the entire time.

Yourself.

That is the part that breaks my heart the most.

Because look at what she was doing. She noticed. She felt it. She tried to tell you. She was doing her very best to keep you safe.

Your instincts were never broken

Your instincts were never broken. They were working perfectly the entire time.

What happened is that every time you brought up that feeling and it was explained away, something quiet shifted inside you. Over and over, the message you received was that you couldn’t trust what you sensed.

Little by little, that voice grew softer. Until one day you almost stopped hearing it at all.

That voice is still there

I want you to hear this: that voice is still there.

She didn’t go anywhere. She hasn’t stopped caring about you. She just needs enough quiet and gentleness to come back through.

You don’t have to rebuild trust in yourself all at once. You only have to begin.

A gentle way back to yourself

That’s exactly why I created the 5-Day Kickstart, to help you find your way back to yourself after an affair. It’s five small, guided steps to help your body settle, so you can finally hear your own wisdom again. There’s no pressure and nothing to do perfectly. It’s yours at no charge.

Because she was trying to protect you then.

And she will protect you again.

With care,
